Description:

Premiere release (on CD) of the scores to Noriaki Yuasa's "Gamera vs. Giant Devil Beast Jiger" (03/20/1968) and "Gamera vs. Deep Sea Monster Zigra" (1971). In addition to the scores, the album includes two sound effects tracks (one for each score) as well as secret track. Music composed by Shunsuke Kikuchi. All music is in mono.

Additional Notes:

The films are known as "Gamera vs. Jiger" and "Gamera vs. Zigra".

While this marks the first (and currently only time) these scores have been released on CD, it was first released on LaserDisc. It was part of the mammoth Gamera Permanent Preservation Project box set released in 1991.

This album is the fourth and last volume in a four volume series titled Daiei Film BGM Collection. The series only consists of scores from the Showa Gamera films, with the volumes being:

Of the four volumes, only the fourth (this album) is out-of-print.

Due to space limitations, two cues from "Gamera vs. Zigra" had to be placed on the previous volume of this series (Daiei Film BGM Collection: Gamera vs. Giant Evil Beast Guiron Music File). These cues are DB-7 M-7 and DB-23 M-17. If they were to have been included on this album, then DB-7 M-7 would have been placed between tracks 24 and 25, and DB-23 M-17 would have been placed between tracks 34 and 35. In addition, an unused cue (EXT) from "Gamera vs. Jiger" was placed on Giant Evil Beast Guiron Music File, also due to space limitations.

The retail price listed is the original price when the album was in-print, though adjusted for the recently implemented 10% consumption tax.
