Additional Notes:

"Yatsuhaka Village" is based on the Kosuke Kindaichi novel by Seishi Yokomizo. Yatsuhaka, the name of the village the film is set in, translates to "Eight Graves" (named for the graves of the eight fallen warriors), therefore, the title can also be translated as "Eight Graves Village". The film is widely known as "Village of Eight Gravestones".

The Anokoro Film Soundtrack Series was released to coincide with Shochiku's Anokoro Film DVD/Blu-ray series. The brief soundtrack series consisted of five volumes released by Shochiku Music Publishing's in-house label, Shochiku Records. "Anokoro" translates to "at that time" or "of that time". The five albums in the series are:

Anokoro Film Soundtrack Series: Vessel of Sand Film Original Music Collection (SOST-3014)
Anokoro Film Soundtrack Series: Yatsuhaka Village (SOST-3017)
Anokoro Film Soundtrack Series: August Without Emperor Film Original Music Collection (SOST-3019)
Anokoro Film Soundtrack Series: Yellow Handkerchief of Happiness Film Original Music Collection (SOST-3021)
Anokoro Film Soundtrack Series: The Incident/The Demon (SOST-3022)

*Previous releases of the score only contained the soundtrack album recording. Tracks 30 - 36 are excerpts of that recording.

Record singles recorded (tracks 28 and 29) on June 5th, 1977. Score recorded on September 2, 1977.
